The
Hops is Tops!
JP Hops House is a bit of "inside the loop" found outside
the loop. There are 24 beers on tap, a couple hundred different
brews in bottles, and great live music from local talented musicians.
The Hops House is the home for the Fort Bend/Houston Songwriters'
Association and the local chapter of The Nashville Songwriters'
Association. The owners, Jim and Pam are super and the "regulars"
are a friendly bunch. Sunday nights is the Open Mic, and Bob and
Jeff and The Fowler Brothers "folk out" on Wednesdays.
Weekends you may see Adam Flint, Smythe and Taylor or even Shake
Russell! Stop by and order a cold pint or two!
Nothing
but smiles here.
Simply put, one of the most laid back atmospheres imaginable. The
perfect place to go when all you want to do is relax with a cold
pint and friendly faces. No matter what, it's always nothing but
smiles here. Props to Jim and Pam-owners/barkeeps.
Clyde's
10
JP Hops House is, by far, one of the finest establishment in Houston.
They have great beer and great popcporn. Jim and Pam are always
real nice and they smell good! I love their Beer selection. Sometimes,
there is some groovy music going on right there on Jim's newly remodeled
custom stage. What a treat!
Alot
of History Here
This place has quite an established reputation throughout Houston's
homebrew and beer enthusiast community. There is alot of history
here; it has been in business for decades and was the original location
for the first annual Dixie Cup Homebrew Competition, which has now
outgrown the bar and become an interstate level event. Eventhough
they have a small draught selection, this is one of the better beer
bars in Houston. They also have a very unique collection of old
tap handles displayed around the room.
Well
Lit & Well Ventilated
Large selection of beers on tap and a huge selection of beers in
bottles. Friendly people and very good service. The pub is well
lit without being bright and was well ventilated (Even though there
were smokers in the pub, it was not very smoky). They also had several
dart boards. If it was closer to Cypress I would be a regular.
