The always popular writer-in-the-round format
returns tonight to feature three outstanding
Texas talents. Chris Collins is a relative newcomer
to the music scene in Houston, but he is quickly
turning heads. He was chosen as one of the top
ten regional singer songwriters at the 2002
Kerrville Folk Festival. Chris has a style all
his own, a pleasant blend of his easy guitar
style and his clear smooth voice. Jen Rathbun's
ability to capture the audience with her voice
and expression, united with her honest lyrics
and skillful piano playing, sets her apart from
other artists. Her songs cover a wide variety
of topics from loss, to dating, and even to
eating cereal. Annie Benjamin’s performance
is stellar, from the command of her multi-register
voice to her outstanding work on guitar and
flute. No stranger to the campfires of Kerrville,
Annie is a song circle favorite at the annual
festival and a fabulous performer who makes
her way around the state regularly.
