Moe Hansum Band
with a splash of the soul and rhythm of the Mississippi Delta. In concert the band presents a variety of their original tunes, complemented by little-known covers from artists such as Bukka White, Robert Johnson and Jimmy Reed. The Moe Hansum Band has been together in many incarnations since the early 1990's.
They have performed at the Kerrville Folk Festival as well as Antones in Austin, Houston's Continental Club and Dan Electro's Guitar Bar. The band is also a favorite at house concerts and private parties, often joined by one or more special guests. And it so happens, tonight they will have two very special "sitt'n in w/Moe" guests: Susan Alcorn on pedal steel and Oliver Steck on trumpet, harmonica and accordian. Shake Russell with The Fowler Brothers

The legendary Texas singer songwriter Shake Russell again takes to the stage at JP Hops House with The Fowler Brothers as his band. The "boyz" have accompanied Shake a couple of times recently, both shows top-notch. This past October's presentation really was a whole lot of fun, as was their first show last March, they had stepped in to accompany Shake when fellow performer Michael Hearne was unable to make the performance. Their combined effort proves to be a rockin' good time for all ... audience and performers. Join us for what promises to be another great "shakin" show.

Ken Gaines & Karen Mal
Featured in Mississippi Coast Magazine, writer Max Biedenharn describes Ken Gaines as:
“A singer/songwriter with a beautifully clear voice and articulate guitar accompaniment, Ken has played and studied a lot of music, but it’s obvious that he’s also studied himself and his craft and is committed to finding what’s original and at the same time, universal in his experiences.”

“I look for those venues that are surrounded by a spirit dedicated to quality. Those audiences are very precious to me. In the course of a concert, I would like to make you laugh, and cry, and ultimately think about what we are, and what we may become. That is my passion.” ~ Ken Gaines

In three short years, Karen Mal has gone from a virtual unknown on the Austin acoustic music scene (she originally hails from New England, although she has spent time in places from Manhattan to Memphis, from Wisconsin to California), to one of the most sought-after performers around, both as a solo artist and as a sideman for others on mandolin, guitar, and harmony vocals.

Steve Brooks & Saylor White & Chris Collins
Celebrate the art and the heart of songwriting with three great MTM Award nominees.
Mild-mannered, Austin-based Steve Brooks is a folksinger/humorist with the energy of a Texas twister and eclectic songs that range from the sublime to the ridiculous and back. He never loses his sense of fun, even when touching the most serious subjects. If there's a common thread to Steve's songs, it's about looking at the world from a slightly different angle than the one you're used to, or from several angles at once. Steve puts it a bit more poetically, "A single new star rearranges a whole constellation."
East Texas born writer of songs, poetry and short stories, Saylor has written over two thousand songs in his thirty years of word crafting, including "Dress of Lace" recorded and performed by Nanci Griffith and Lyle Lovett.
"... few writers we have ever heard can knit pieces so masterful as Saylor White." ~ Crossroads Magazine, France
Chris Collins is a relative newcomer to the music scene in Houston, but he is quickly turning heads. He was chosen as one of the top ten regional singer songwriters at the 2002 Kerrville Folk Festival. Chris has a style all his own, a pleasant blend of his easy guitar style and his clear smooth voice.
Come out and enjoy the evening with us and these three talented performers ... music to lighten the spirit and blow the mind.

Strong vocals, attention-getting tunes, together with Tom's masterful guitar work, showcase the true talent of this Texas singer/songwriter. Special guest performers this evening will be Doc Coursey on harmonica, Jeff Duncan on fiddle, Willie B on guitar, Buddy Allen will play bass and Chris Collins contributes vocals.
