This Houston-area guitar duo is tonight's musical entertainment. Wally Brannon and Joel Marlowe originally came together in 1983 and over the past 25 years have shared many a stage as band members or duo partners. The name Blind Justice was taken from the name of a song Wally wrote when he was in prison ... well, not really, but you'll have to come hear them to get the true story behind the song.

Texas Songwriter Showcase
Some of the best singer songwriters from around the state of Texas grace the JPHH stage on the second Friday of each month. The featured artists for this evening's showcase are Marie English and Kim Kyle.
empty pixels
Kim Kyle: Kim has been playing original music since her first band  The Hunters, a performance grabbing new wave outfit shared  packed  houses with The Judys, The Pretenders, and Psychedelic Furs. Later she, Marie English and Lisa Morales (of Sisters Morales) formed a trio performing a blend of blues, rock and country. Kim is currently focused on her original songwriting and a new CD project.
empty pixels
Marie English: On the Houston music scene for a long time, Marie is a perennial favourite. She has played with a number of local bands including Dr. Rockitt, Dopellganger, and Jerry Lightfoot; she even had her own band, Plain English, for awhile. She is also recognised for her contribution to the popular local group, The Basics. Repeatedly nominated, Marie has been a Houston Press Awards winner for 'Best Piano/Keyboards'.
Willie B: Willie describes himself as a bluesy guitar player, but he is so much more. He is a gifted and diverse guitar player who writes and performs in many musical genres. Willie writes and sings songs around the people in his life. He has been a past recipient of HFBSA's "Song of the Year" and "Songwriter of the Year". Willie has recorded four albums to date and is currently working on his fifth solo project.
The Texas Songwriters' Showcase is the longest running showcase in Houston. These songwriters will take to the stage to entertain you with colossal musical talent and wide-ranging experience ... you will not be disappointed.

NSAI Sunday Songswap @ 4:00 pm
emptypixels
Every 4th Sunday JP Hops House will host a NSAI Sunday Songswap from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, followed by our traditional Sunday Night Open Mic
emptypixels
This is not a formal meeting, program, showcase or critique format- just writers hanging out with other writers, giving and getting some inspiration. We will do a “song circle” style of gathering, for writers to try out a new song or two and get feedback from fellow writers.  You do not have to be a member of NSAI to attend or participate. Go to http://myspace.com/nsaihoustonnorthmetro for more information, or send an email to nsai.houstonnorthmetro@gmail.com.
