Toto
- we're not in Kansas anymore; our dream really has come true
... we're in TEXAS!
Once
upon a time Jim lived in Kansas City, Missouri and Pam lived in
Monticello, Iowa. Eventually, they both made Houston their home.
The devoted couple originally met in March 1985 at a Fowler Brothers'
gig at TV Rovers Pub (soon to be renamed The Hops House). Fifteen
years later they bought The Hops House and renamed it JP Hops
House (J is for Jim and P is for Pam). So, now they are doing
exactly what they set out to do - owning a pub with a great selection
of beer, the best musical acts in the city and the greatest reward
of all - the best customers and friends anyone could ever ask
for.
"We
take implicit pride and joy in our business, and we want to share
this with all of you."
The
Hops House has been around since 1980, and today is recognized
as a comfortable, "good feeling" pub. The atmosphere
is warm and cozy, catering to all your needs: beer for your taste,
music for your ears, friendly faces and smiles for your sight,
and the smell of freshly popped popcorn (it's a free buffet, remember).
You
can even partake in a friendly game of darts, should you feel
the need for a bit of light-hearted competition.
A
special feature at JP Hops House is the spacious 2000 square foot
outdoor deck where you can sit back, relax and enjoy the evening
breeze with your friends and favorite beer. There's even a great
song written by Bob Yoh about "Jim's Big Deck". With
all the necessities of life near at hand, the deck is the perfect
location for your next private party; and Pam (remember her theme
party obsession) can help you with planning and catering arrangements.
Never
the standard watering hole, JP Hops House is your ultimate neighborhood
establishment, no matter which Houston area neighborhood you call
home.
